The formula is made of cherry oil which is meant to protect lips from drying and “stress factors.” I don’t know what is meant by the last property but this oil definitely feels nourishing on the lips without feeling greasy. There is a scent of mint and vanilla and the natural scent of cherry with the latter being the most noticeable for me. Since the color is so sheer, each shade will look different depending on your natural lip color. Since this is an oil formula, the color is really subtle, giving off the slightest tint of deep red on the lip. I picked up the shade 012 Rosewood which I’d describe as a deep pink-red color. It’s a simple product so I love that they kept the packaging understated as well. The design of the packaging is really simple and fuss-free which I actually really enjoy. The product name is written in silver on the clear part of the tube. It’s packaged in a cute little rectangular clear tube and the signature silver top with CD embossed on top. The Dior Lip Glow Oil is $34 for 0.2 oz/ 6 mL and available at & Sephora* plus major department stores like Nordstrom*, Saks Fifth Avenue*, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman. If, like me, you’re a beauty minimalist wanting to try out the lip oil trend and thinking about trying out the Dior Lip Glow Oil, continue reading this quick review to find out the verdict on whether I think this product would fit into your routine. I decided to give the adult version of my childhood fave a try because 1.) It’s Dior and I love Dior Makeup, 2.) it was on sale and 3.) Quarantine panic shopping was in full swing. When I saw the lip oil trend gaining more popularity, I immediately thought about the $1 rollerball lip oils that had colorful artificial flowers in the tubes I used to buy at the beauty supply store and how they would somehow make their way all over my face. Dior released their new line of Lip Glow Oil Color Reviver*, a collection of 7 clear and shimmer tinted lip oils earlier this year as a part of their Spring/Summer 2020 collection and after much back and forth with myself on whether to try them out, I ended up ordering one during a 25% off sale at Neiman Marcus in April.
